Sutton SET: format and practice
Entry year: 2027 entry (later stage). Information checked 12 October 2026.
What the official information says
- The SET is the shared first test for the Sutton grammar schools. What happens after it depends on the school.
- For 2027 entry, Wallington County Grammar School, Sutton Grammar School and Wilson's School share a second-stage test of Maths and English papers. They are not multiple choice and include no verbal or non-verbal reasoning, and the content is broadly based on the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Each school sets its own pass mark and admissions criteria, so a child may pass for one school but not another.
Tests, stages and dates are set by the school or council and change every year. This page is a summary, not the official rules.
